Injection Moulding Company – 630A Section Board Installation

The Project

QUEST Electrical were appointed by an injection moulding company to upgrade the electrical distribution infrastructure at their manufacturing facility to provide the additional power required for new production machinery.

The project involved the installation of two new 630A section boards, each supplied via parallel cable feeds, providing the capacity required to distribute power to the new manufacturing equipment.

The installation formed part of the company’s investment in additional production capability and required careful planning to integrate the new electrical distribution equipment with the site's existing LV infrastructure.

The Challenge

The new production machinery introduced a significant additional electrical demand, requiring a robust industrial power distribution solution capable of supplying the new equipment safely and reliably.

Due to the size of the electrical loads involved, the new 630A section boards required parallel incoming feeds, with the cable installation and containment carefully planned around the existing operational manufacturing environment.

The works also needed to be coordinated to minimise disruption to ongoing production while providing sufficient capacity for the new machinery.

The Solution

QUEST installed 2 x 630A section boards complete with parallel feeds, creating dedicated electrical distribution points for the new production machinery.

The installation included the associated large power cabling, containment, terminations and electrical distribution equipment, with the new section boards integrated into the site's existing electrical infrastructure.

Our engineers managed the installation from the new supplies through to the section boards, followed by the required testing and commissioning to ensure the completed installation was ready to support the new production equipment.

The Result

The completed installation provided the customer with the additional 630A electrical distribution capacity required to support their new production machinery and continued investment in manufacturing operations.

The project demonstrates QUEST Electrical's capability to deliver industrial electrical installations, 630A section board installations, parallel cable feeds, large power cabling and LV distribution upgrades within operational manufacturing environments.
