Industrial Cable Containment Installation – Large Manufacturing Facility, Stockport

The Project

QUEST Electrical were appointed to carry out a substantial industrial cable containment installation at a large manufacturing facility in Stockport, forming the first phase of an ongoing programme of electrical infrastructure works.

The project involved the installation of multiple heavy-duty galvanised cable containment systems, including cable tray, cable ladder and trunking, creating the infrastructure required for the subsequent installation of power and electrical cabling throughout the facility.

Working within a large manufacturing environment, the containment installation was carefully planned to provide suitable cable routes while accommodating the requirements of the existing building and future electrical works.

The Challenge

The project required a comprehensive industrial cable containment solution capable of supporting a range of electrical cables across the manufacturing facility.

With different cable sizes and installation requirements to accommodate, a combination of heavy-duty cable ladder, galvanised tray and trunking was needed to provide suitable routes throughout the building.

As the first phase of an ongoing electrical installation programme, the containment also needed to be positioned and installed accurately to ensure the subsequent cabling works could progress efficiently.

The Solution

QUEST installed an extensive range of heavy-duty galvanised cable containment systems, including:

  • 100mm–300mm galvanised heavy-duty cable tray
  • 300mm heavy-duty cable ladder
  • 900mm heavy-duty cable ladder
  • 4" x 4" galvanised steel trunking
  • Associated containment supports and fixings

The combination of cable ladder, tray and trunking provides dedicated routes for the electrical cabling required as the project progresses.

Our engineers completed the first phase of the installation, with particular attention given to containment routing, structural support, accessibility and coordination with the existing factory infrastructure.

The Result

The completed first phase has established the cable containment infrastructure required for the next stage of electrical installation works, with the heavy-duty ladder, tray and trunking systems now in place ready for cabling.

The project demonstrates QUEST Electrical’s capability to deliver large-scale industrial cable containment installations, including heavy-duty cable ladder, galvanised cable tray and steel trunking within demanding manufacturing environments.

As the ongoing project progresses, the installed containment will provide the foundation for the next phase of cabling and electrical distribution works, supporting the continued development of the manufacturing facility’s electrical infrastructure.
